Slim Aarons
Born in New Hampshire in 1916, Aarons made his name as a chronicler of the good life. Using a simple yet effective approach to his work, no make-up artists or artificial light, he let the natural opulence of his subjects; beautiful men and woman in magnificent environments, illuminate his lens.
Slim Aarons brought a photojournalist’s eye to the art of formal society portraiture. His typical scenes took place in the sun, in front of a pool or spectacular houses ranging from European palazzos and castles to the ‘Palm Beach Hotel’ in Los Angels.
By his own admission Aarons made his career out of what he called “photographing attractive people doing attractive things”.
He photographed for publications such as ‘Town & Country’, Vogue and LIFE Magazine. His work has been shown in both solo and group Exhibitions around the world.
